Q: What is a Parish or Town Council or Parish Meeting?

A: They are the first tier of Local Government, closest to their Parish, and their residents. Parish & Town Councils are elected, going to the polls (if needed) every 4 years.

Parish Meetings have a Chairman, but take their decisions by calling a meeting of all residents in the Parish. Parish Meetings only exists in the smallest of Parishes, with less than 150 electors.
