Q: What issues can my Parish Council discuss?

A: It may DISCUSS anything that affects all or part of the community, directly or indirectly. As the democratic representative body for the parish, it may influence decisions made by others too. In addition, it has many powers to act and or spend in particular areas.

It may NOT make decisions on issues for which it does not have a specific power or duty. Good parish council minutes should clearly refer to the relevant section of legislation under which the decision is made.
