Q: What should our parish council do if a planning application comes in after the agenda has gone out?

A: Schedule the item for the next Planning Committee meeting. The response time for planning is 21 days and councils' with a high frequency of planning applications should be scheduling planning committee meetings every two weeks. This is becoming the norm in areas with significant development such as Cambridgeshire. In the event that no applications arrive the meeting can be cancelled.

If the council has not adopted the committee system the Clerk can call a full meeting of the parish council with this item on the agenda.
